As you know by know, the new soundtrack is already out. As for John
Corbett, he was doing some work for VH-1 (I saw him doing promos for some
video show), and I would not be shocked if we saw a few NX videos on VH-1.
From what I hear, MCA paid more money than usual to get David Swartz (NX
music writer) on the label. MCA also had some problems putting specific
songs on the record (that's why it was delayed, it was suposed to be out in
time for last Christmas). So MCA is letting more ride on this specific
soundtrack than others TV tracks by other labels, like the soundtracks of
"Murphy Brown" and "thirtysomething." The "Miami Vice" sound track was the
last TV track that had this much expectation surounding it, but the NX album
is not as Top 40/dance orientated as the MV album, so this could get harry
for MCA. Don't be surprised if you see commercials with 800 numbers on VH-1
late at night, because where better to sell a TV soundtrack than on TV.
In following the concerns of others about missing elements of the NEXP
soundtrack, I have the following taping suggestion:
If you purchase one of the recent 100-minute blank cassettes, you can
fit the entire soundtrack on one side, with enough room to spare to
add on Bela Felck's "Flight of the Cosmic Hippo," and Enya's "Carribean
Blue," with only a minute left to spare.
Okay... you may not have Bela Fleck or Enya, but if you've invested in the
NEXP soundtrack, they are certainly worth your money. You shouldn't be
disappointed by any of the three discs.
I hate to bring this subject up again, but I don't think that I
saw any post that answered the question, "What was the name of the
band that played the song 'Toy Cows in Africa'?" I really liked what
little of the song that I heard in the episode in which Bernard
returns from Africa with a necklace that contains 1/2 of a moth in
amber.
Anybody know?
Also, to those who haven't yet seen the soundtrack album, it does NOT
feature the Toy Cow song :-(.
What does it contain?
I just wanted to thank everyone who responded to my question about the song at
the end of "The Final Frontier." Everyone who responded said it was on the
album "Shepherd's Moon" by Enya. Most people thought it was "Carribean Blue,"
though one person thought it might be "Storms in Africa."
"Storms in Africa" is on the album _Watermark_, not _Shepherd's Moon_.
I found it!!!
Though I didn't find the cure for cancer as some thought I might :(
You may not believe this but...
I subscribed to the Cle Elum Tribune (Roslyn's local newspaper),
I called Roslyn Town Hall to find the number of a specific person I saw
in the paper,
I called that person who gave me the number of Pipeline Productions,
I called Pipeline Productions who gave me the number of they LA office,
I called their LA office who told me
The name of the song is....
"Toy Cows In Africa" Not very helpful since everyone looked
that up and could not find it.
The name of the group is...
_Chance_
The song...
Is not on any released album...
They gave me the number of the group and said that I could probably get
the song for a price...
I called that number and left a message on an answering machine, and
have not heard back from them yet.
I will write more when I hear from them.
One more time, Who did Toy Cows?
Why not write to the producers of NE and ask them who did it?
A group called `Chance' did it. But it's not been released as a recording
and now were waiting to see if they call (oops, I'm terribly sorry that I've
forgotten the name of the really nice person who worked really hard to find
all of this information and for whom I'm waiting patiently to post more
information) to say if we can get it!
